the lilac lady

The lilac spreads her lavender gown
across her slip of branches
adorned with dew her dress thus sparkles
like crystal bearing brooches

Her hair falls gently on her breast
nectar crowns her head in spender
on cold mornings she beholds a coat
priceless frosty colors

Each butterfly may choose a flower
each elf a charming home
what a scene to admire
at dawns first light each morn

Such loveliness to encounter
the mist rising past her brow
what a wonder her gowns doth spread
wile she dances near the well
