On a death

This is an older poem of mine, I wrote this for three special friends... But in the years it's sat on a paper I still haven't showed any of them

Look right here Over vale and tear,
Vivid is the day.
(Even now so far away.)
In so much I can say.
Never will I not be pained.
Gloom somewhat holds me chained.
But happiness will abound,
As we remember the once sad man,
Is forever in God's hands.

A small thought

This is not a poem, rather an idea or thought.

The floor,
Isn't it mysterious?
To think,
Men have died,
Blood has spilled,
People have fallen,
Children have played,
Water has ruined,
Goats have tread,
Shoes have worn,
Girls have fainted,
On a flat floor,
Like the one you are,
Or were just standing on.

Unnamed

She danced till she died,
Of a bullet shot.
Who the culprit was?
I have heard not.

My book

My book is old, my book is new
My book is rolled in morning dew.
My book contains more besides,
As it rests on evening tides.

A drawing and two pumpkins

I haven't been real artsy lately... but here are two things I've done.
This scarf picture I did with colored pencils.

These are made out of paper clay. First you mould them, let dry for a few days then paint. The Orange one my sister made and the green I made.

An infallible recipe for preserving children

I found this in an old cookbook and wanted to share.

Take:
1 large grassy field
1/2 dozen children
2or3 small or big dogs
A pinch of brook & some pebbles

Mix the children and the dogs together well and put them in the field, stirring constantly. Pour brook over the pebbles. Sprinkle this field with flowers.

Spread over all: a deep blue sky. Bake in the hot sun. When Brown, remove and set away to cool in a bathtub.

Alterations can be made, such as substituting woods for grassy field. A lake can be sprinkled in too.

Look on the bright side

When God hands you lemons,
Make lemonade.
When He gives you fire,
Pull out the kettle.

When God shoots you black rocks,
Build a fortress.
When He takes a life,
Trust he knows best.

When God brings you storm clouds,
Dance in the rain.
If He lets you fail,
Smile and try again.

When God  blows you blue winds,
Jump off and fly.
When He drops you toils,
He'll Cary you through.

Song of a wild girl

In the woods, I met a lady who wanted to take me away.
To proper me up pretty before the morrow day.
So, I let her take and do away with me.
Hoping someday to return, to the woods that called me.

To a fancy room she led me,
With a pot full of steam.
Said she "tis to wash ye".
                        My clothes quickly snatched away,
She left me there all hot and grey.

When I was finished with the bath,
                            (Oh horrid thing of wrath!)
                                And mostly dry was I.
                           My hair pulled tightly back.
And my back stretched across a rack.

She then produced a lacy case.
(As if I were a vase).
Try as I could or would,
                            Closer and closer it came.
Til I felt quite dreadfully lame.

My two ears once perfect and fine,
                           A needle made no longer mine;
                                To hang dazzling gems
                          My dress was beautifully blue.
And of the finest satin too.

A small piece of metal  ground me.
                          Deadbolts of skin bound me.
                             On my finger, she slipped
                               Stone set in silver ring.
As if I were to marry a king.

It felt so tight I nearly could breath,
                                I wanted just to leave.
                                  Led me to a mirror.
Here be holding I now stand.
I suppose I look somewhat grand.

                                                                              ~ Katrina

Can you guess all of the things the lady did to her? That she thinks are torture.

An untitled poem

Hardly ever do I look into the sky;
And wonder how many miles, the Swiss alps are from me,
Quite often I do wonder if I
Take ten feet, and go around the world what, I will find.

Hardly ever do I think about
how many aunts’ uncles, and cousins my friends have.
Quite often I do ponder ideas,
Poems, and scripts, which suggest views of life, liberty, and God.

Hardly ever do I wonder if Jason
was honorable, in his deed concerning the golden fleece.
Quite often I do wonder if I
Offend, scar and hurt people, without giving a thought.

Hardly ever do I wonder if the
Beautiful language of flowers is still widely recognized.
Quite often I do wonder how many
people have walked this foot of ground, and what they first thought.

Hardly ever do I wonder if I
Ever will fall off a cliff, not die instantly and suffer immensely.
Quite often I do look to the stars;
and wonder at their beauty glimmering with the yellow of fire.

Earrings

I've been doing a lot of earnings lately here are some.

I love this pair!

This one is a dependent it is a fancy Japanese knot. Usually you use cord but wire works to.
(These are not very good pictures) I have this box of beading stuff... but most the summer I've been to busy to sit down and bead. But I've gotten some done in the past few days maybe I will post on the other pieces I've made lately .

Silhouettes

These are done with gel pen.
This one, I messed up on the left hoof.

And this one I think I shouldn't have put the lower horse in. But they both turned out :)

Pencil paint and ink

This is a drawing of a psammead (sammyad) I did after reading Five Children and It by E, Nesbit. Bat ears snail eyes body of a spider and arms and legs of a monkey.

This is a card

And this is another card. Done with pens and paint. (I really like how this one turned out)

Watercolor

I never really have tried watercolor before.  But when I saw  my aunt Katie's work that she's been doing, it inspired me to try some out.

This is the first one the hair was supposed to be a type called galaxy watercolor. the lady I watched do it used salt

Then I was going to try it with a horse, but decided not to.

I didn't do it for a while but decided to try it again so I watched another video and did this.
Then tried it again the next night.
This one is actually grape colored, but being purple it looks really blue on the picture. The words I didn't center properly. Oh well, I like how the background turned out tough.

(I already posted the first two but for an explanation I did it again;)

A few new

I love the hair on this one!

I really like how this one turned out.

The eyes ones in the wrong spot (or both) :)

This one was not supposed to be a creepy boy

Clint Eastwood

If you put your thumb on the left side of the face, it turned out quite well. ;)

The camera I used is, not the best. It looks much better on paper :)

newest work on lettering

This is watercolor and pen.
I like how the red G turned out, and the blues, the red D and word faith, could be better.

I apologise for the out of focus photo.

More sketch book

I like how this one turned out.

Dose this one look like a girl on a swing?

On this one I tried a new made up technique. Not sure if I like it or not

Daddy's girl :)

This one I did for a friend.

Sorry for the pictures side ways, they uploaded wrong.

 Just a birthday card.
